Gulliver's Kingdom
With animal demonstrations all year round (dependent on season), children can see cow milking, chicks hatching, piglets, trout rearing, and much much more.
They also have a newly refurbished 'Guinea pig village' where children can get up close to cavvies in daily animal handling sessions. There's more to enjoy than ever before, with a climbing forest suitable for children over 6 and adults alike, right in the heart of the spectacular woodland adventure playground.
They also hold regular craft sessions in the Oak Barn, and take trailer rides into Stand Wood.Other features include the adventure playground, milking demonstrations and trailer rides.
Matlock Hall Leys Park
Officially one of the best parks in the UK! This is a Victorian Park with Boating Lake, Children's Playground, Paddling Pool, Skate Park, Tennis Courts, Large Open Spaces, Mini-Golf, little railway and a great Cafe. the park is also home to events throughout the year.
Bakewell Recreation Ground
Bakewell Recreation Ground is a park covering just over 5 hectares of space and is very popular with families.The park has a modern and recently upgraded play area including splash pads for water based fun in the summer so don't forget to take towels if the weather is nice!There are also 2 football pitches, 2 croquet lawns, a cricket square, a multi-use games area, and a pavilion.
Hathersage open air pool A large (100ft X 33ft) open air swimming pool with water heated to 82°F (28°c), hot poolside showers, lawns and views of Stanage Edge, Hathersage Church and the surrounding hills. There is also a hard play area for children, a beautiful, safe playing field adjacent to the pool, for picnics and a games and tennis facilities.
Matlock Farm Park Matlock Farm Park is set in part of a 600 acre working farm, providing a great day out with varied activities for all the family including the adventure playground and the go kart track! The park has a varied selection of animals to see including llamas, goats, peacocks and red deer to name a few.
There is also a specially designed playground and a go-kart track for kids!
