Rainy Days   so what!

Why not drive over to Castleton and visit the caves! Days! (Approximately 30 minutes passed Bakewell). There are several caves to explore; Blue John Cavern – the only place in the world where you will find Blue John Stone. Speedwell Cavern – Travel on boat through water filled caverns. Peak Treak Cavern – Truly magical because of the many Stalactites and Stalagmites. Castleton is also a lovely village to wander around.

TAKE A SCENIC DRIVE  Within the park’s 555 square miles you’ll find drastically different landscapes. The north of the park is dominated by an area called Dark Peak. High and wild, it’s home to the untamed moorland summit Kinder Scout, the highest point in the park. Towards the centre of the park you’ll find the White Peak, a lower lying region of rolling farmlands, deep dales and ancient woodland, named after the limestone dales formed in the Ice Age. And the patchwork landscape of the South West Peak is a mishmash of moorland, woodland and farmland.

Short drives Why not drive over to Lady Bower Damn. About 30-40 minutes passed Bakewell. You’ll really start to see the landscape change, particularly if you drive on, over Strines Moor and onto Strines; A tiny hamlet with a pub.
