Overlooking the delightful market town of Matlock with spectacular, far reaching views of the Derwent Valley and beyond, Little Larsas Retreat is ideally situated for discovering all the Peak District has to offer.

 

Your accomodation is full of modern Vintage Style. Vintage finds sit along cherry picked pieces making a fun, fresh and relaxed interior. 

 

The property includes plenty of original features; cornices, ceiling roses and sash windows, which are all complimented with cheery English Heritage fabrics and wallpapers. The combined effect is stylish, homely and welcoming.

SLEEPING 2-4 in two pretty bedrooms. A double bedroom and twin bedroom. All bedding included...with pure Egyption Cotton.

RELAXING South facing sitting room with wonderful views of the valley. Includes two deep, cushion filled sofas, flat screen TV, Sky TV channels, DVD, CD Player, large selection of DVDs plus games and books on the Peak District.

COOKING kitchen with four ring gas cooker, oven, microwave, cafetiere, fully stocked with cutlery, crockery, wine and champagne glasses.

EXTRAS Refreshments on arrival including; home made scones & jam preserve - topped with local dairy cream. Handmade soap and homemade chocolate on each bed to welcome you to your room and treats for the younger ones. Basics are also included; tea (including Earl Grey & Darjeeling), coffee, salt, pepper, oil (including Olive Oil), vinigar (including Red & White wine), herbs, plus tea towels & cleaning supplies.

BATHING A fresh new bathroom with bath, overhead shower, basin and loo. Plenty of soft towels.

ENJOY THE LOCAL PUBS The Sycamore Inn is just a two minute walk. You can walk for a further 10-15 minutes into Matlock where there are is a good section of pubs and Resturants.

HIKE THE HILLS You will find maps and guide books in the cottage to help plan your days outside, from local walks around Matlock to numerous trails to explore - all very accessible by foot, bike...or pony! (trekking centre just Nr Tissington) And for something more challenging try High Tor, Matlock Dale and the Heights of Abraham.

 

TOUR THE TOWNS Matlock offers plenty of speciality shops to wander around & cafes to try (The Cosy Cafe gets a thumbs up) and theres a great park to let the dogs have a run and the kids to play, whilst the ancient town of Bakewell is a 15 minute drive and famous ofcourse, for it's Bakwell Pudding! There a lots of speciality shops to wander around and a great museum set out the way it would have looked centuries ago. Cromford is only a 10 minute drive away and is steeped in history, being listed as a World Heritage Site because of Sir Richard Arkwright credited for inventing the spinning frame.

VISIT THE ATTACTIONS Most famously is Chatsworth House and is only a short drive but close too and well worth a visit is Haddon Hall, one of Englands' finest examples of a medieval manor house. The younger kids will love Gullivers' Kingdom and The Heights of Abraham is for anyone (unless you don't like heights!) to enjoy the stunning scenery from high above in a cable car.

AND FOR A TREAT Visit Matlock Meadows Icecream Parlour where you can sit in the Parlour and enjoy real dairy ice cream freshly made on the farm, using the milk from the farms own cows, which you can see grazing in the nearby fields.
